Default Snow mode Question?!?!?!

hey guys.. ive had this car for 2 1/2 yrs. and i never used the snow mode button before.. past 2 christmases, it was in the garage... but, Tomorrow it is gonna snow 3 inches here in TN and i want to give her a first ride in the snow...lol

So, How does the snow mode affect the car? Performance wise? accelerating wise? the reason im asking these question, cause its gonna be my first time using that button.. lol

let me know what it does..?

thanks.

I never really used it and we have gotten alot of snow. I put the trac button on when it snows and I get around just fine. Can't be any worse than not using the snow button with trac on.

all it does is slows down the accel
so even if you stomp the gas it responds slower....
i think it retards the vavle timing

on dry i've tried all the combo

and there is a significant difference when you use the snow featuure

just try cruising on 2nd gear with the snow on and stay at 3000 rpm
while staying on that, turn off the snow feature and you'll see the rpm's jump

it's actually helpin my wife learn how to drive standard and she has never driven b4
that's what i think anyway

I know I live in hawaii but I was curious too what the snow button did so I tried it one day on an empty road, I accelerated to about 30 MPH and shifted to neutral (I have a manual) and activated the snow button it seem to put more pressure on the brakes (brake lights don't activate). But that is my guess.

i find that the snow button is rendered useless, just use throttle control and use the traction button. When i find myself stuck, i just spin my way out of the stupid snow...unless snow is all the way up to the vehicle's underbody...then it's failure and digging my way out....

I dig the snow button. It's not useless.....It's helpful for me when I am cruising downhill on compact snow coming from a ski resort. Helps prevent from braking too much.....Put it in 2nd or 3rd gear with snow button on and cruise downhill with a breeze. Snow tires though is a must.

I think It cuts power to the engine some, as people have stated.
Also, in an automatic, it forces the car to start in second gear as well as prevents the car from dropping gears to accelerate faster.

My advice... Leave it in the garage, take out the GSXR instead.
Basically the same thing, just 2 less wheels and a lot more cold.

basically we have a electronic throttle body even though there is an actual cable on a spindal..but yeah it basically delays throttle response..acting like the car is starting in second gear

basically if you smash the gas as many of you know you will lose the momentum that u have driving on snow, the snow button mainly slows the throttle response and etc to avoid losing your momentum.
