i'm not sure about this, ima ask this question out, shouldn't it be the same tranny as the 5speed supra mk4?

The IS300 has a W55 tranny, similar to W58 found in SC300 and NA MKIV. I don't know much else about the tranny though but the IS can take a V160/1, R154 and W58. Not sure if any of those will drop right in with shifter in place but I'll let the experts chime in.

I don't think it will fit, nor would it be a good idea. The w55 can't take much abuse/power.

I can't remember for sure, but I thought the v160 ended up being short just like the r154 does when you swap it to an IS? That would mean the w55 is too long for the Supra?

If the Supra needs a 5 speed, the r154 would be best. w58 would be the next choice.
