How many miles does your IS have, and how many does his have? Does he just buy the car and the kit or what? Manual, Automatic? Doesnt make sense.

rmm intake has dynod and lost hp before...so becareful wat u get anyways...bodykit and coilovers doesnt help you go faster...and its 90% in the driver anyways.

The suspension can help him go fast in a couple of ways. Stiffer suspension will help put power down better also it could be lighter then the suspension it replaced which also can help performance.

we both have automatic the cars are completely the same but he has the rmm ex. and intake.

Its just that I was thinking of getting exhaust and intake also but what the hell I dont have exhaust and intake and my car picks up faster.

If he just got it then it may not have adjusted to his driving style yet. The true ECU of the is300's take a day or two to adjsut themselves and "learn" your style of driving.
I remember when i test drove my car before buying it. It was not fast at all, i was completely unimpressed. After a couple days it was much faster.

Anothing thing to consider is that you could be one of the lucky guys that has a stock car with 180wrhp. His might have initally been 165rwhp and even with the upgrades, he is still behind you a bit. (The intake, and exhaust are only supposed to give a 14-15 increase in rwhp). Then there is the ECU which has already been explained. The guys at Rod Millen may have driven the ***** out of the car, so now it's all rung out (not likely though).

One other thing, you should do a few (few=more than 3!) 0-60 tests. I had a loaner and thought it was peppier than my car. I was a bit miffed, so I started to do a few 0-60 runs. I was getting 7.7 every time in the loaner. Then I got my car back, and the first one was 8.0! I was freaking out. Then I did another one and hit 7.7, so I realized that it was simply my mind playing tricks on me.

You might have a bias towards his car, or an expectation that his car is supposed to be MUCH faster (really you shouldn't feel the difference with an intake and exhaust) and when it didn't live up to those expectations you felt that it was really slow.
