1. 8k or 10k it doesnt matter to the ballast, the number means thats the color that you get.

Won't hurt anything but you'll be able to see alot better with a lower color temp.

Send them back and get something more useful...like 6000k. I will probably go with ~5000k when my bulbs burn out.

i got 20k in mines and its been working fine its a deep blue
