how did you mount your front plate? looks like a big L shaped bracket. but what did you bolt it into (underneath the car)?
i reminds me of this:

i bought bendable metal from home depot and mounted it to the stock license plate frame, then used 4 screws underneath the bumper, after i got a front plate ticket...damn Cali!
