Go with Bosch all the way, try to get it online or Autozone. Avoid the dealer at all costs. Once installed, re-set the computer by disconnecting the battery for 15-20 minutes and your error code should go away. Also, I would rent or borrow an O2 removal socket which allows for the harness to protrude in the groove and allow for easy removal. Sometimes they rust onto the housing.

the kind i have seen go in where the ecu is and bypass bank 1 and bank 2. The bosch one you refer to, does it go there as well or does it go inplace of the actual sensor?

Depending on what sensor is out, you can bypass bank 1 Sensor 2 with bank 2 sensor 2.

But you cant bypass bank 1 sensor 1 or bank 2 sensor 1. Did that make sense?:um:

o2 sims only confuse the ECU on bank 1 sensor 2 and bank 2 sensor 2. Which is the post cat. Pre cat, you will need the o2 sensor in the bung.

I will try to find a schematics on how to do this.

Found it...hope this helps

Read the title, to get the right wiring diagram for your yr

This can fix almost all your busted 02 sensor problems.

If you break an 02 sensor...the car will throw both a heater error as well as a signal error. You can take the busted 02 sensor wires and splice into a corresponding wire and thus your CEL goes away.

This also allows you to remove your sensors from the exhaust stream. You can theoritically run the whole car with 1 sensor in the exhaust provided you have an 02 sim.

Warning: Be careful when you deal with the sensor 1's. These read fuel. Don't mess with these unless you know what you're doing.

So here's an example of how to simulate a bad heater wire from your racepipe using the diagram i made above.

yes, that makes sense. so now its time to find the o2 sensor that will work with our engine. the one i found quickly with google was $150 by bosch. What price range are these little gems in?

Looks like the diagrams will help provided by other great members. Yes, these things are about $150 for most Lexus models.

150 is what it costs for my bank 2 sensor 1. If it was sensor 2, I would have already bypassed it
