i got a nice popping noise on my is300 when i come to a stop after backing up but on top of that i have a hard time sometimes getting it into reverse i have to run it into 1st gear than back into reverse for it to work any suggestiong on this?

popping noise from the breaks is normal.
as for having a hard time getting in reverse (assuming you're 5 spd), it could be the synchros are going...?

ya thats wat i was thinkin too i just got the trani fluid changed and so far so good i dont have problems shifting into other gears and the car has 46k miles on it so idk its hard for me to think that they would be going out already

Heyy im having the same problems...when i back up and brake, the brakes make a popping noise (almost like the brake pads are sliding back and forth) and when i move foward and brake the pop as well like they are sliding back...also about the reverse thin...i have he same problem onnly sometimes its hard to get it into reverse...i usually just put it into neutral and release the clutch...then push clutch back and then itll go right into reverse...weird..my car has 45k on it..i dont think itcould be the syncros also?...
