Default A Few Questions...

hi everyone, i have a few questions that i'd like your opinions on -

first off, im looking at some new rims - oz superlegerra's. i have several questions bout them...do you guys think i should go for 18" or 19"? i think 19"s would look great on the is, but im not sure they would fit the wheel well/give me enough tire, and i would have to recalibrate my speedometer. your opinions? anyone have a pic of an is on 19"s?

secondly - im looking at some subwoofers. now i dont know a whole lot about audio systems, and friend tells me that i should only get one twelve cause it will hit just as hard as two twelves...anyone have a good system in their is? how much did you pay for / cost to make a box? and whats your personal favorite woofer (and what amps are best too)?

lastly - i want to lower my is, but im hesitant to do so because the clearence is already low and i live in an area where, unfortunately, i need just a little bit more (poorly done roads ). i could survive with it....so whats your suggestion? what springs should i use? or should i check out bag's/hydrolics?

thanks for any imput

Personally I'd stick with 18's, I think you'd regret the 19's. On the subs, I'm sorta researching that one myself. So far all recommendations are for (2) 12's though. Good luck.

if you don't want your car to lower that much, you should get eibachs. people say that it only lowers about 1 in. i'm debating on eibachs w/ trd adjustable shocks or a set of coilovers. but i do know what you mean about the clearance. when people are in my car, i scrape all the time in and out of driveways! even when i go in and out at an angle. lexus engineers put in a lot of time to develop the suspension and i personally wouldn't rip it all out to put in bags. jmo...good luck w/ it.

I have 19 inch rims on my is with the H@R stage 2's. I just bought nex coilovers because i think it can go way lower. Hope that helps out with your decision. Big rims look sweet>

i really am leaning towards the 19's...ive been saving up for them too, so i have enough + my dad knows a guy so i could get them cheaper...did you need to recalibrate your speedometer? my buddie didnt get his done when he got bigger tires for his truck, and it turned out that when he got pulled over, the cop clocked him at 57 in a 40 (he was going 50...or so we though). and the 19's fit the wheel well nicely?

I never had a problem with the speed ometer and I have been pulled over for a 57 on a 35 which is the true speed that i was going, plus I have three other friends with is's with 19's so no problem. With H&R stage 2's it looks sweet. Fits just nice. Plus I have had 4 people in my car with no rubbing.

With 19's there will still be a slight wheel gap..considering the fact that you'll most likely get 35-40 profile tires. I recommend dropping your car with L-Tuned shocks/springs..it'll lower your car about an inch and the ride isn't much harsher than stock.
