Custom mounted EDFC controller *** PICS ***
I recently installed the Tein EDFC on my car. The installation wasn't very difficult; it just takes some time and care to put the motors on top of each strut and run the wiring. The wiring part wasn't bad because I had the interior take apart for my audio system install anyways (see here http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?t=287478).
I haven't noticed much of a difference in the stiffness/softness of my suspension when I adjust the dampening while driving, but I know it's working. Overall, I think the EDFC is a nice addition and provide me with the dampening adjustment flexibility I wanted.
However, the main reason for this post is to show others how I decided to mount the control unit. I believe the mounting location is unique and that I'm the first to do it this way. Hopefully this will give some other people some ideas of how to mount the EDFC control unit.
I didn't want the EDFC exposed because I like having a very clean-looking interior. Therefore, I went to work with a Dremel on my JDM dash try and top vent piece and this is how it ended up (I'm very pleased with the results):
