interested in buy a 01-02 is300
i am thinking about getting out of my 96 bmw 328is and purchesing a is300. what are the common problems and stuff to look for with them. any help would be appreciated

There are "quirks" but not problems. Such as a clicking from the driver side rear axle that has been reported by a good number of members, but the fix was a DIY so no problem and it is not something you see in a lot of them. (say...15%?)
Nothing like the E36 "problems" that they have. I've owned an E36 for the last 4 years and can name every single nuisance on them. The IS is nothing like that in regards to problems. The rear subframe failures, OBC failures, etc.... seen in the E36.
The IS owners do not complain about mechanical, they gripe about cup holders..... LOL.
