I had the opportunity to test drive a SportCross at Lexus of Serramonte this AM. It is an incredibly fun car to drive and what it may lack in luxurious cabin materials is more than made up for in driving fun. More importantly, the small wagon/hatchback concept would appear to be an excellent compromise between the normal cargo space in an ordinary trunk and the more or less cavernous space of an SUV like the RX300. I think these things are going to sell like hotcakes, although the color choices available for the time being in the Bay Area appear to be narrow (gray, black, silver).

My wife and I are looking to replace our Saab station wagon, and we both agreed that we could live without the cargo space of the RX 300 and experience more driving fun in return.

Need to test drive the small Audi and Mercedes wagons tomorrow before making a final decision.
