I must have that kind of power!! The thing rocks. It's so tight and nimble, very similar to a 911 in handling and sound.
I am waiting anxiously for the SRT Stage 2 results that should get the IS very close.

The Area 51 stage 1 supercharger will get you head to head with M3, it is been proven by Black_IS300. = )
I just saw a couple M3 on the road these few days, the silver one looks very stunning, tight fender work, quad exhausts and all the nice little details. It looks very buffy, certainly a nice muscle car. too bad the 10K+ mark up!!

The sound?
I kinda liked the sound...it could be more of a growl but the higher pitch reminded me of the new Carrera. It wasn't even broken in so we never went over 6k RPM so I didn't hear the high-rev sound. But the overall handling and tightness of the chasis and the torque of the engine was top-notch. I'm not a big fan of BMW interiors but this one was very nice.
The best part about the appearance is the back end....quad exhaust, slight fender flare, nice.
Bottom line: Great car for the money...if the money is at MSRP, or slightly higher. $10k over is too much.
