Default E-shift vs manual

I am thinking about purchasing an 01' IS300 in Solar Yellow. It will be the E-shift. I drove it yesterday and was quite pleased. Are there any big differences in 0-60 times in the 02' manual compared to the 01' E-shift?

yeah of course, eshift is just auto, it's slow...... 5 speed, you can do low 6 0-60 if you drive it right. auto? high 6 to low 7? i had 5 speed, and i drove the auto. big big difference

By that article that smokin'_joe showed me, I will be happy with my E-shift. The times are very similar. Not enough to pay extra grands for the 02' manual.

0-60 was 7.4 compared to 7.8
1/4 was 15.3 compared to 15.6 both trapped at 90mph

Lexus however says the car is capable of 6.4 in manual version.

If you really care about acceleration, think about this sad fact: a scion TC can kill you

Acceleration isn't the main thing I care about. I want to put an expensive audio setup in there. Then just have fun with what the car already has. After a few years I would consider forced induction.

One other advantae is te manual has a sport suspension so it will make a slight benefit in the handlind dept.

Ya, the manual does come with a better suspension. I think an aftermarket suspension would be better though.

7.4? definitely one of the worst 0-60 i have seen on the 5 speed manual. i am not a superb manual driver and i constantly got mid 6 in my is300
