I am very close to purchasing an 02 IS300, but there is one thing holding me back. I here from alot of people that this car is absolutely terrrible in snow and winter driving. I am from Toronto Canada and sometimes we get snow. Can anyone help me on this so i can decide what to do.

these cars have magnificant handling, not to mention they make great cars.
my opinion: get snow tires or all-season tires for better traction.
(whatever you do, do not turn off the traction button if your car is an AUTO)
**BY ALL MEANS GET THE CAR, I HAVE ONE AND I LOVE IT!!!**

I have put at least 35K miles on this car in the CO snow. Michelin Pilot Alpins and you will have no problems...even in snow as deep as 1 foot. I used to be a pro snowboarder and this was my primary vehicle to get me to photo shoots, over mountain passes to compete and in general there was no place I could not go within reason. In the event you do get sideways, the balance of the car is so perfect, it is always in control.

Ya i live in T-Dot to and this car does suck in the snow regardless of what other people tell you but if you know how to drive you'll be fine i mounted some 245/45/17 Dunlop Graspic on the factory alloys for winter. I bought them at Cheap Thrills in Milton but you can get them at Wal-Mart for like 109 each. I think the car is fun in the snow but I don't what your used to I live in the country and enjoy a good snow fall I've made it to work in 2 feet of snow. Anyways good luck brother, buy it and floss cause im sick of seeing so many damn bimeers around here!!!!!!!

Hey man, I'm from Saskatoon and I drive my car in the winter (sad to say its the first winter its been driven). I know we get alot more snow than you (today we got like 15cm or somthing stupid). I have Perelli Winter tires, driving around its not bad if you use the SNOW option. I have got stuck a few times (this morning when i pulled into work) but dont let that discourage you from the car. I love it, and since your in T.O. you wont have as much problems as me, and i'm getting by pretty good.
