can someone tell me the difference between the 2jz-gte and the 1jz-gte. there is a 1jz-gte complete with trannie for sell on ebay right now and i am wondering if it will fit in a IS.

I think it is out of a corrolla from the early 90's, not sure about it though, I don't think they use it anymore, it was the sport version?

The 1JZ-GTE is a 2.5L Inline 6 twin turbo. It comes in the Soarer in Japan and probably a few other cars. According to this website it has 280hp. http://soarer.members.easyspace.com/...ry-soarer.html

2JZ-GTE is a 3.0L inline 6 twin turbo.

so will the 1jz fit into the us spec is300, of course with some simple mods, but will the over all fit work.
