Kids, Questions and a IS300
I am looking at getting an 2002+ IS300 for my wife. My question is any IS owners with kids, who are in the car often? If so is it comfortable back there? How much trunk space does the IS3 have? Just in case we have to stick a stroller, playpen and high chair seperate or together back there is it possible. Is it a well behaved car in the rain also?

The car fits two adults Very comfortably in the back..so a child that is probably 1/5th the size of an adult will be plenty comfortable..anyways..they will be in their own little seat anyway. I never understood the need to buy a minivan or an SUV ..when you have a kid..4 or 5 then maybe...haha..My son is two and he is back there every day and is plenty happy back there and I am sure he will be comfortable back there when he is 30. Another good thing is the back seat is not too far from the driver so. ..you can reach back there to hand your kid his juice or toy...as for the trunk..it is adequate..you can't hide bodies in there, but I have moved, myself and plenty of people..I fit 3 air conditioners back there once
a stroller has permanent residence in my trunk..playpens folded up with the stroller no problem either..even my son's lil power wheels fits in there..As for behavior in the rain..that all depends on tires..(as with any car) you want to keep decent tread and tires that excel in wet and dry..the stock potenzas do well..they are very grippy..but grippy tires wear out quickly..when your tires are worn..the IS has enough power to get you in trouble..in the wet...If you live where there is snow..get a dedicated set of winter tires. In short the IS is perfect for a small family.. 1 kid tops..two cars seats fit no problem..but I am not a fan of keeping kids by the doors in case of side impacts.
