I'm going to install a NOS kit on my IS, I would like to hear what setups you guys have. How much of a shot. (I'm thinking 75hp)

I would love to hear everyones experience with it.

I'm doing research to see how much to put in it. I've asked around and everyone seems to think it would hold 75hp without a problem.

BUT would love to hear input!

Just curious Brian, what is the stock compression on these engines?

Thanks,
Brian

I beleive the stock compression is in the 11:5:1 area.... sont hold me to that but I know it is close to that... and an EMGERGENCY would be me racing for alot of money and starting to fall behind...

Wow, I guess forced induction gets a little scary with these high compression engines. I've been afraid to put an 8lb blower on my Cobra (and my compression is 9.85 to 1); however, I'd bet the farm that the bottom end is much stronger in the Lexus.

Guys, when you guys say that you will only use it in case of "Emergency," I don't believe it! hahah..Wouldn't it be extremely tempting to just use it all the time? I mean cmoooon! Having all that power at your fingertips, and you don't want to utilize it. Pleeeeease. hahah..

Also with NOS don't you have to clean the internals of your engine every so often? It would definitely void the warranty- that's a SURE THING.

FYI: Stock compression on the IS is 10.5:1

This might help you plan a little better than if you thought it was 11.5:1 or something.

Using NOS in conjunction w/a centrifugal s/c like the Area 51 and SRT units would be a good choice.

It would allow the user to bridge the gap from low rpms to the massive spool up at higher rpms that those type of superchargers need.

It would be a good way to get the engine to the higher rpms where centrifugal superchargers really shine.

Let me ask, would it broaden the power band of a centrifugal s/c? I think it would.

Yes that's true, I have done alot of research since then, and it seems like that's the way I'm going.

But I hear that it screams
