That's Mark Nyugen's car right? in Jersey? I saw it when I went to Modified Motorsports ( I believe he used to own it ). The car was torn apart and ready to become a whole new different type of machine. I believe he was trying to make his IS somewhat like the HKS IS. Something happened, don't know exactly what, but i think the IS got trashed. It no longer looks anything like that.

it has already been said and I agree that the IS is just not a VIP style car. It's built to move and take corners. The GS is like in between. It can be VIP, it can be made to move. The LS is straight out VIP in my opinion.

there is no such thing as "Making" a car VIP. Simple rule...

big body = VIP (even a stock GS is VIP)

Compact/sport sedan = NOT VIP (maybe VIP-styled, but not VIP)

i've actually heard two different stories.

The first was that the guy who was in charge of doing the whole car, completely messed it up. btw, the same guy put the Quest kit on my GS. I heard that the guy's plans didn't work out and that the car would not start. The idea was there but not enough planning and somehow, the car was totalled.

The second story, (which makes more sense to me), the IS was broken into while at the shop by some of the workers there. They were obviously allowed into the shop so they got in, took the car apart and ran off. In the end, the car was a complete loss.

i'm not sure which is true or if either is true but these are the two stories that I heard. I'm pretty sure that is his car. I've seen the magazine a couple of times and I'm pretty sure that is his IS.

Phew, thanks, guys. Saves me a lot of trouble trying to re-explain all over again what's VIP and what's not. Just because it makes plenty of mag coverage (especially a magazine like Turbo magazine which usually features turbo street dragsters) doesn't make it a VIP car.

All car lovers have that magic car, the model they have to own in spite of any financial or other logical reasons to the contrary. We're talking about a car that's as important as oxygen itself.

For Mark Yuen of Cinnaminson, N.J., it's all about the Toyota Altezza. Not only does the Altezza have high style, but Japanese tuners have turbocharged the beegeezus out of the 3S-GE four bangers since the Altezza came out in 1998.

yupp.. i was right. It is his IS300. Except i spelled the name wrong. Yuen, not nyugen. But same guy.

omg... that's what happened to it?

the last time i saw it, it was missing the hood the front, the color of the car was aluminum foil, and it looked like it had gone through the sahara. It looks like it didn't come out much better either...

at least he got an used LS.

Mark basically was trying to get it back to stock, it is not a total loss....

Its going to take a lot of work and money to get it 1/2 way back to normal
