after me and my wife purchased an IS about a week ago we noticed that there is no arm rest . after going to the LA auto show this weekend and looking at the new IS I noticed that They have an arm rest. is ther any way to add an arm rest? has anyone done this?

You can buy the oem armrest but it's a little bit expensive. Carson carries an aftermarket one that fits nicely for the 01's. Just check with Steve for the price.

Yes, it can be done. I added the OEM armrest to my 01. It's gonna cost you arund $270 in parts, depending where you buy the parts from. Here's a thread on how to do the install and all the neccessary parts.

YES...I have the AIRSTREAM LONG VERSION on my 2001....I purchased it as one of my very first mods in spring 2002....got it from Carson Toyota

it was an easy install....its great and deepened the inside of the armrest...
