Default Onging Vibration

I've taken my 02 IS300 to Lex of Orlando four or five times so far for the same vibration problem of the steering wheel shaking and the whole car shaking at times. First they told me nothing was wrong. Second visit I was told the tires were bad and I replaced them. The third visit I was told the balancing was wrong. I went to a well respected front end specialist for the wheel balancing and it helped just a bit but only a short period of time. Next it was "three of your wheels are bent." I was dumb enough to replace them in an ernest attempt to resolve the problem. Then I was told that the brake rotors were most likely out of balance and causing this problem....well, about 10K +miles later the service manager told me that he's sure I need tires and that's the problem. (Anybody see how this just made a complete cycle around?) Now the warranty is almost up and the dealership hasn't called me back and Lexus corp. customer service hasn't sent the warranty/arbitration papers I requested.
REALLY wish I could get rid of the vibration. Really wish I had not spent nearly $2,000 in Orlando Lex suggestions that were USELESS & EXPENSIVE.
Any similar situations or educated knowledge would be appreciated.
Thanks.

man that's pretty big stupid circle you going around there.... seriously the vibration could be a lot of stuff, wheel bent, balance, alignment, tires, control arm, bushings, steering rack, etc.... it's really hard for any of us here to just tel you what goes wrong, but i am just amazed that the dealership couldn't even figure it out..... did you try to talk to the customer service and see if they can get you something rather than just new tires and what not?

Bought the new set of tire, balanced of course, and an alignment. Guess what...it still has this awful vibration. Does seem to be more play noted on the steering wheel after turning the steering wheel a inch or two either direction. Bad in cooler weather!

Vibration thru the steering wheel can mean

- wheels need balanced....this usually is noticeable around 60MPH and not at low speeds

- judder on braking suggests the rotor is warped and needs replaced

- any other judder could be steering rack, shocks, suspension etc.

I would take it to a 4-wheel suspension alingment specialist who deals with modified cars, they will find out very quickly.

2Chuck,
I highly recommend Irish Mike's here in Orlando to help sort out your vibration issues. He is a genius when it comes to suspension and alignment. Good luck with Lexus of Orlando and arbitration!

i see you have a 02 is, i also see you are in the orlando area i suspect... i was there this weekend for the meet and i see alot of the major roads are pretty bad , sounds to me from what you are exp that you might have a broken ball joint (the way you describe turning the wheel slight left or right brings it on) and/or control arm bent or control arm bushing cracked or split and this could be true of the bushings within rear axle carrier

have them focus on the susp items and call lexus corp 5 times a day until you get satisfaction

good luck
