Steering tightness and car wondering problems
Ok, here is the problems I am having.
The steering wheel does not get tighter with the faster I go like it use to and also with highway speeds the car wonders from around 80mph and up. These two problems have been a big pain and really has taken away from the enjoyment of driving the car. I would be very thankful if someone could help me finally figure out why this is happening and I could finally get these two problems fixed for good.

I take it this is an IS300 with rack and pinion steering, correct?
Have two things checked on the car.....wheel alignment and for wear and free play in any of the steering arms. Incorrect toe settings on the alignment.......especially front toe-out.....will cause wandering from side to side. It may also cause severe feathering on the sides of the tires.
If the steering and alignment check out OK, you may just simply need new tires. The 17" high-performance tires that are standard on IS300's are notoriously short-lived.
Even aside from the legality questions, if you are regularly doing over 80, I would keep my speed down at least until I had the car checked. If something in the steering is loose, the faster you go, the riskier it becomes.
