Default sportcross owners... Prone to rust on hatch?

Like the titles says... is this common? found some bubbling on mine... wondering if i should get it repaired.... wish someone made a CF hatch for our car... but guess there isn't a strong market for it

In my opinion I would definitely get that rust bubble fixed ASAP before you forget about it and it spreads. As someone currently doing rust repair on an older Japanese car..I really wish the previous owner hadn't ignored stuff like that lol

The area that it's occurring is very small.... i think it's manageable. I need to check underneath the car, but this car wasn't in any area that would make rusting difficult. i'm pretty sure was due to a leak behind the inner head light that was allowing water to accumulate inside the hatch

I'm not sure if the US cars are any different but the Canadian models have aluminum hatch lids. You can test yours with a magnet. The hatch will not oxidise further if you leave it alone. Once aluminum forms that top crust it won't penetrate further like typical iron rust. It just looks bad.

For mine I used a paint pen and touched over the spot. 80% of mine is hidden behind the license plate so I lucked out a little bit.













I also did my rear wiper since somehow it started to rust as well
