Default Headbolts?

Ok, I have read, some people go back and re-torq the headbolts after about 500 miles.. Ok what am I re-Torqing to? am I loosening the headbolts up and just re-tightening them ? I am actually pretty confused on this..

It means remove the cams, set your torque wrench to whatever the manual says to torque them to, and check to make sure they are still in spec. Just give them each a slow turn until the torque wrench clicks. They shouldn't turn at all and it should click as soon as you start the turning motion.
