Toyomoto Headers and SRT intake
Alright so I finally found some money and am looking to purchase some used Toyomoto headers and an SRT intake...I was wondering if anyone knew the prices of these things...seller said the have been on his car for about a year or so and are in perfect condition...his price is $400 for both...this a good deal?...also I heard that the headers come with a B-pipe to replace the stock one and an "O2 fix" or something to prevent a ce light?..im not sure what that means but anything I should look for before buying these?
Thanks, Kyle

Err... not sure where the $450 came from. But a *NEW* SRT intake is $600
Currently on sale for $525 through 9/30/08.

The Toyomoto header really depends on the seller and how far they're willing to drop on their price. I'm sure you could find one for around $100 though. All of the headers (including Xerd, Toyomoto, Megan, OBX) are all the exact same thing. Same build, same quality, same product, different name. The Mazzurri System, however, is very different and 10x better build quality IMO.
So to sum up this novel, $400 is a steal as long as you are getting the AAFC (Advanced Air Fuel Computer). Without the AAFC, the intake is basically useless. The piggyback fine tunes all your fuel consumption and A/F ratios about 350 points.
Hope this helps!

so i was doing some research on this intake and im not too sure about it anymore..seems kinda sketchy to me and I'm not sure whether or not im ready to go cutting and soldering wires to my ECU..lol..This is the reason for my suspision..http://my.is/forums/f130/srt-intake-...5-08-a-350601/
Am I better off just getting a regular intake system...also I was reading the manual for the install (https://www.msu.edu/~rocgilbe/SRT.pdf)and it says in bold at the bottom: "DO NOT TRY TO OPERATE VEHICLE WITH ONLY THE INTAKE AND WITHOUT THE SRT ECU INSTALLED"...so i guess you must install this or (according to swift racing) there could be serious damage...im not sure how but w/e..WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?!

Okay.... The piggyback ecu is VERY easy to install. It comes with self explanatory instructions. The answer to your question is simple as well. Do you want a regular intake with MINIMAL gains, or a badass intake with gains that are a heck of a lot better!
as quoted in the thread you brought up:
Reason why i chose this intake over others is because they use 3.5" intake tubing where as aem,k&n,injen all use 2.5" . The SRT intake can inject more volume of air to compensate the bigger tubing they also provide you a AAFC system which wires into your ecm. This adjusts the a/f ratio and parameters to help everything work in sync.
injen,aem,k&n intake ($250-300)
tubing 2.5"
no tune (minimal gains)
apexi safc,greddy,aem ($350-400)
prof tune ($150-300)
TOTAL $750 (roughly)
SRT intake ($450)
tubing 3.5"
AAFC tuned (max gains)
AAFC included
AAFC tuned
TOTAL $450

If you psyc yourself out, you'll never buy any real mods for your car! It will all just be simple, easy things. And how boring is that? It's an IS300, not a Mercedes SL63 AMG.....

haha thanks for the encouragement guys...my decision has been made...im buying the SRT intake and the Toyomoto headers for $375...i guess I was only double thinking myself because I have this roommate who has a supercharged G35 and thinks that he know anything and everything about tuning and upgrading cars (which he doesnt, especially about the IS300). I had him look at the intake and tell me what he thought...he said he thought the ECU thing was "a piece of **** and a scam and that its going to F*** your car up...Dont get it." Lesson learned: dont listen to a cocky roommate...listen to your family at Clublexus
Thanks all...ill post some pics in about 2 weeks of it all if i can!
