Question

I love my new SBM IS300. But, sometimes when I look at it from the back it looks too ricey. Its those lights I think. Are there any after market lights that don't look like that?

Don't think that I'm bashing the IS. I love it. I had to choose between it and the 325Ci and I chose the IS because it looks younger and you don't see tons of them on the road like you do with the 3 series.

Could it be the colour? Maybe Black would have looked less ricey?

No, never. The lights are what started the fad. Even though every modded import you run across has the "lights" you should be confident in knowing that the IS was the original.

Actually, only once...yesterday when one of my new coworkers asked how long I've had it and who "tricked it out" for me. (It's bone stock.) Hey, I'm 42 and I love my car...but the old fart got my goat.

No, I don't think it's ricey.
Well, maybe when one guy asked me if it was a Honda.
He saw the car only from the distance, though.

I think it is very original. I love it.
Well, I'm in my early 20's, so it fits me extremely well.

one time i was at a gas station and some guy said to me "hey , what is the power on ur integra type R?" and then he asked if it was like a 1.8 liter or something... then i had to tell him that he was mistaken and that it was a LEXUS IS300..
i guess mine kinda looks ricey(yellow), but all the better.. a stock IS300 is kinda like a real real real nice fixed up rice rocket ( i mean that in a very positive way )

There is no doubt they look 'ricey'. Kind of hard to avoid when you have a compact car, built in Japan and featuring all the things the 'Integra' and 'Civic' streeters have: clear lenses, billet pedals, 17" wheels.

The plus is it has more power and looks trick right out ot the showroom. They are modding to get to 200+ horsepower and we are modding to get to 400+, very big difference!!

And it looks WAY sweeter than any Honda ever will!!

Better starting platform, better finished product.

I've had people mistake my A4 for an Accord before (and I do think the A4 has some previous generation Accord-looking features here and there, especially the taillights).
