Default CleanMPG First Drive Review of the 2013 Lexus GS 450h

Hi friends,

I know this is a little old, but it's a great review and provides a lot of details that I haven't ever read in other reviews when I was cross shopping this vehicle.

Worth a read, because it also goes into a comparison with the 3GS.

Enjoy,

Agreed - 35% better fuel economy is quite a lot too

It's just a balancing act of power vs efficiency.. until we can advance battery technology furthert.

To have the best of both world, I would love to have the GS, 4 door platform, and be able to use straight electric power until about 45 mph (even if you have a heavy foot) & then have the gas engine kick in after that point to move faster. All while getting a sub 6.0 zero to 60 time and 30+ mpg city.

Lexus isn't there yet though! If you want to go all electric, then Tesla is trying to be the first to achieve what I stated above at a reasonable price.
