The 2 seconds is just fine for me or the darn door would open every time you got near it.
Forget the waving, do not know what Lexus even advises waving. Just hold your hand in front of the emblem and it opens

LOL...I got tired of trying to figure out how close to get to the emblem and where to hold or wave. Last time I was at the dealer for service one of the service techs wanted to look in the back so he just put 2 fingers on the upper part of the emblem and 2 secs later it opened!. I have used this almost exclusively for the past 6 months and it works every time, without exception. On the few occasions where I have my arms/hands full I just get my arm on the emblem for 2 secs and WA-LA!
