Default 2008 Lexus RX 400h

I am the proud owner of a 2000 Lexus RX 300 with 194,000 miles. Thinking about selling the 2000 and buying a 2008 RX 400h with around 55,000 miles (seems low). Question? Compared to the RX 350 around the same year and mileage, it seems that the 400h is worth less than the 350. Is there a problem with the 400h I don't know about. Should I look at the 350 instead. I found a 2008 RX 400h with 55,000 miles (??) asking $15,900. Some guidance would be most helpful.

AWD or FWD? There is nothing wrong with the 400. There is just less of a market for 7 year old hybrids. More people are shopping for the 350 which will drive up the price a little. People seem to over pay for Toyota quality in some cases.

55,000 is low but not unusual. Sounds like that car that was used mainly for local commutes and price very attractively.
Most people are weary on aging hybrids because it is not time tested yet. The major components in a hybrid have a big price tag to repair. Majority of people take it to the dealer for work because most mechanics are unfamiliar with the hybrid system. Note that is regarding to the hybrid components.

There is a recall for the "inverter" that some people initially had to pay out of pocket until the recall came out. that little inverter cost $7-9k at the dealer and failed suddenly around 100,000 miles. Check the Vin to see if the vehicle is included in the recall. I did not buy my car until it was included in the recall. There is other recalls calls for the sticky dash and humidity/water in head lights.

I took the plunge and bought a used 2008 with 95k miles because a site like this exist. I have done some of the service myself. I enjoy the car and have not regretting getting it. I would research the car to see if there is a reason they are ridding the car for that price. How is it compared to other 400h in the region (100 mile radius)

that is a great price....with that mileage you would also be able to obtain an extended warranty if you wished.

What people are paying is a matter of supply and demand so don't assume that lower pricing = problems.

We haven't had any trouble with our 2008 RX 400h aside from a leaky steering rack and headlight condensation which were both covered. We have about the same number of miles. Previous owner was my wife's grandfather who didn't drive much.

I just bought an almost identical vehicle - 2008 with 54k miles on it. I got a 3 yr / 30,000 mile warranty for only $1519 and they allow payments with no interest.

Here's the guy's info:
