Water in Traction Battery Compartment
I do have have this issue myself, fingers crossed, but came across this article I would like to share. Its written by a car shop that seems pretty confident with hybrids. I hope I am not violating any posting rules. but i think I can help prevent a future issue.
Basically the situation is that water can build up in that compartment and short something out. There is a draining hole that can get clogged. Next time I am going under the car I will make sure the drain hole is not clogged.

They also have an article about the inverter failure on a HighLander (seems dated based on recall info) and other articles. http://artsautomotive.com/publications/7-hybrid/
