Question Buying Used 400h

I'm going to be getting my wife a used 2007 or 2008 RX 400h. I really like the style and she should like the mileage. I'm seeing prices from 15K-22K. When looking at them in person, what should I be looking for? Any common issues with them? I have been checking the service records for the usual services such as 90K service, IPM (?) replacement, etc. What else that the service records or carfax won't tell me.

Thanks,

It's not just common issues that matter. All the usual inspection stuff with any used vehicle purchase applies. If you're not sure what to look at then get it professionally inspected.

I for my experience have had one wheel bearing go bad, and the inverter cooling pump. other than the normal high mileage maintenance stuff (shocks, brakes, etc) at 156k miles the car has been excellent. Brakes last much longer due to regenerative braking and their are no belts other than the timing belt. Everything is driven by electric motors.

Default Great Vehicle

I have a 2007 RX400h that was my Son's. It has 92K miles and all I have done is have the engine coolant flushed and filled. It is a great car and gets good mileage!

Just to followup, I did buy a 2008 RX400h. It is fantastic! My wife drives it and loves it. That's the most important feature. We are still learning all the ins and outs, but so far so good.

If your wife likes your new to her 400H half as much as my wife does, she will be a happy wife for a long time. I wanted one and bought it, but it didn't take very long at all for her to decide she wanted it for herself. First thing she did was buy new clothes just in case the Lexus Police pulled her over and she was dressed like she used to be when driving the Jeep!! I think that was just a story she was trying to use on me, but she looks good in that Lexus now and the only time I get to drive it is when that funny yellow light goes on in the dash, low fuel!! And that is not nearly as often as I would like
