Default Buying a RX400h - What is considered high miles?

I am planning to get a used RX400h and the ones I am interested in have about 80k in miles.
Is that considered high mileage for this car?

I would think under 100k, however remember upcoming maintenance items like timing belt, and spark plugs at 125k miles. I bought mine at 88k miles and now have 150k miles. Most dealerships would probably consider low mileage as 60k and below.

I think that is low. It's a Lexus not a BMW. I bought my 2006 RX400h 2 years ago with 60k and it has 120k now and no issues. My dad has a 2003 Lexus GS with over 250K and no issues. On the contrary, I had a 2007 BMW X3 before this and got rid of it at 100k miles because it had a ton of issues and my dad has a 2006 BMW M5 with around 60k miles and it has issues all the time (but he will never get rid of that car...he loves it).

In short, Lexus' will last forever. Just stick to you maintenance and you won't have any problems.

Default Rust issues

Thanks for the response.

I live in the snow belt and worried about rust issues on old cars.

My Toyota needs these replaced @ 95k though it's 15+ years old....hence the car search

I heard Lexus vehicles have special rubber coating on the lines?

Thanks

I bought my 2006 rx400h at 250,000 kilometers and drove it up to 330,000 kilometers before i totaled mine.

I only did brakes, oil changes and had the odd light bulb burn out during the time I owned it

It would of easily hit 400+ had I not killed it, I miss that car everyday

and if you're concerned about rust, my rx was rust free aside from some weird surface rust that formed around my front grille insert over the 3m. I also live in a snowy region.

Get any used vehicle you're considering inspected then -- not just for rust but for all potential issues. Ensure that the inspector actually lifts the vehicle and thoroughly checks the underside as well.

No but miles are just miles regardless of make/model. The condition, maintenance history, etc can all vary even for vehicles with the same mileage. Don't rely solely on the odometer to tell you the condition of the vehicle no matter what you're buying.

My 2006 RX AWD has about 93,000 miles.

Holy cow, 330,000 km = 205,050 miles! That's awesome!
