Default Warranty- Headlight Housing Moisture

I received a letter from Lexus re. a Warranty Enhancement Notification, stating the warranty to replace headlight housings with excess moisture is extended until 31 Oct 2015. This includes cosmetic concerns and is regardless of mileage.

I got the same letter. This is good news. I got some water in my headlights at the car wash a few years ago. Those suckers are expensive to replace. The letter did say they were replacing failed lights first. Cosmetic issues would be done as headlight stock was available.

so what exactly is the problem, just water in the headlights, which is basicly saying there is a hole in the assembly right? or is it because of condensation. How is it any different than me open my high beam bulb and putting water in there?

Read the whole back of the memo - it will answer all your questions.

i droped my car off on the 9th because one of the headlights went out and the AFS light started flashing. Its been four days and they have gotten approval for a replacement but they say its going to take around a month to get the headlight and the ecu in. I dont mind the weight time because they gave a great loaner GS so im fine but they say they arent allowed to release the car because of legal issues. so I guess Im stuck.

Hi gang

I just dropped my RX off and they are replacing both sides .
When speaking with the service guy, he said the new part is different from the old parts and should not leak anymore

What a pity these cars all have this leaking lights issue

Stopped by Kansas City lexus today , they took pictures of both sides and a manger took a look at and said now they will send pictures to lexus and that they are only replacing burned out lights at this time. Mine will be placed on the old waiting list when the parts come in. I never received a letter. Quick question what do they replace when the " replace the headlight" they whole things or just the case , bulb ?
Thanks ,
Eads

As stated in the first letter, a second letter will be mailed for those who have not suffered a failure and only have the moisture problem.

for mine they replaced the headlight and the bulb and the ecu

They already did this campaign 2 times on the car but the condensation/ moisture keeps coming back
I got my RX back about a 4 days ago.
This is the cars 3rd headlight (1st from the factory original, 2nd replaced by lexus per zlb campaign, 3rd replaced by lexus per zlb campaign) and guess what, THERE IS STILL CONDENSATION but its working right now, but it will inevitably fail.
