Truth in Advertising?

Check out this advertisement on the Lexus site in Australia

CAREFULLY look for the l/100km

Lexus states the car fuel rating is 6.3/100 (sorry there is no bullsh_t icon to accompany the claim).

It is a metric under Australian Design Rule 81/02 - Fuel Consumption Labelling for Light Vehicle. Under specified conditions, this vehicle achieves 6.3L/100KM, which is 37.34MPG.
If this metric is used across the board in Australia, those are the numbers you would be comparing to other vehicles.

ADR 81/02 means the tests where conducted by the manufacturer in their own lab. Perhaps the same lab doing the KIA/Hyundai tests.

EPA numbers are closer to reality.
