Woody,
I couldn't have expressed my feelings about the car better. I'm still loving my 2010h. Watson has nearly 55K on him now and two year + graph is still over 30mpg at 30.4 mpg. I do burn 93 octane and try to stay within the speed limits and maintain 32 psi cold temp in the tires. They warm up to about 36-37 psi.

We weren't looking for (or even considering) a hybrid when we bought this car. However, there is no denying how much more we like this car than we did the 350. The more subjective benefits are well worth the cost, to us.

The 450h is more comfortable for both of us, it handles better, and it feels like it has significantly more power. We also think it rides better, which I attribute to the increased weight from the batteries more than changes in the suspension. We make no accommodations in our driving style for the hybrid, yet we get 27 to 30MPG, as opposed to 18 to 20 we achieved in the 350 for similar driving. We have not experienced any of the "negatives" expressed by others in this thread, at all. In fact, in every day driving, it's not difficult to forget we're driving a hybrid!

It's a little embarrassing considering where I started, but I admit it. I am a full blown Lexus hybrid convert. Not because of the mileage. Because of the overall car. It is a truly nice package.

BTW - I know you said you're considering an '11-'12, but I would suggest you at least consider a '13. There are some nice changes.

The only difference between the 2010 and 2012 is the parking assist option. So far it has continued my complete satisfaction with Lexus and this model.

On another note, I walked away from this with some pains in back and neck and have now completed, all my doctor visits and pain pills. Another testament to the safety of the car and my luck.
Joriad, that's great news on the new RXh and more importantly your health. Please post some pictures in the 3RX rollcall thread when you have a chance. I'd love to see your black on black 450h

Good to hear you've completed your doctor visits and pain pills. Congratulations on the 2012! Nice to have the parking assist option to help avoid the minor accidents. Sure you don't want anything do do with any more major ones. Glad it all turned out so well for you, and that you continue on with complete satisfaction with Lexus and the RX.

I am glad you are OK. I think that the car saved your life. Pretty much the highest honor a car can bestow.

Enjoy your new ride! Congrats!

I would like to test drive one of these cars.

Default Very Happy Camper

At 6 month point, 5,000 miles, very happy with 450h as a luxury SUV. This is not a sports car or even sport sedan but an SUV. When I want to feel sporty, put it in Sport mode and enjoy the response and steering of a great SUV. Getting 26-27 on mixed driving with mid grade fuel.
Favorite pleasure is listening to the door close from the outside -- solid.
Also happy with discounted extended warranty from Jerry at Midwest Toyota. Saved over $1,000 from Florida dealer retail.

Just a follow up since I last posted. We have had our 2013 450h for 14-15 months now and still love it. After a year it got its first oil change. No issues. Averaging around 25 mpg. I drove a 2013 350 the other day and really did not like that engine/transmission. I really like the CVT on the hybrid.

That's great dflowers. And I hear you on the CVT. I don't want to drive a gas vehicle again.

My 450h turns 4 years old this Thursday with 29.5K on the odometer. I can't believe it's been that long! It's just as enjoyable now as the day I picked it up. Nary a problem too. I've only had to do routine maintenance including one set of tires. No big surprise there, that's basically how the other two RXs were at the same age. It's a great feeling to have such a reliable vehicle

After a little more than two years of ownership, my 2012 RX450h is still going strong and as Anita has said it has been enjoyable from day one. I plan to keep it a while and possibly add the NX as a stable mate.
