Accuracy of Fuel Economy Display
Just wondering what people's experiences are with the accuracy of the "After Refueling" fuel economy display. I'm only on my second tank and haven't done any manual calcs, just wondering if I should expect the display information to be a reasonably close match or not. My Camry Hybrid was always reasonably close but somewhat consistently optimistic. The one in my Sienna is always very optimistic that I don't really trust it much.

You have two. One resets automatically when you fill up and the other will continue to measure until you reset it. You'll have the best accuracy if you let it go quite a while. Mine had nearly two years on it before I reset it and it was spot on. I also use the fuely app with my smart phone and it measures by precise fuel and distance measurements. Even after several months, the one in the car is within a .10 constantly, sometimes on the negative side meaning I was actually getting a smidgen better than it said.

It is "close" on the tank to tank fill but will be different than a manual calculation because of the variation on when the pump turns off and how you might top it off to get to the nearest nickle or dime. If you let the average run for many tanks that variation starts to disappear and you will find that the calculation is spot on.
