Default Finally, I got one...

Hello everyone,

I just imported an RX400h into Canada from Florida today, and thought I'd say HI.
What I got was a (built in '05) 2006 blue mica with just over 31,000 miles.
I've been hanging around in the forums off and on for the last year reading and learning as much as I can while I did my hunting. I am still trying to swallow exactly what I've gone and done...buying a 7 year old vehicle!!, sight unseen!!, for more money than what I paid for my used Chevy HHR 5 years ago!!...GAWD...idiotic or what...it all goes totally contrary to my style. But, my partner is on her second RX (non-hybrid, leased company write-off) so I've been exposed to the brand and to the dealership nearby. I've put on more than 200,000kms on the HHR in the last 5 years (plus another 250,000kms on a motorcyle) so I'm hoping this one will take me across the miles too because I really like to hit the road and go exploring!
I will post some pics when I get it registered and on the road.

Fingers crossed,
Dave

7 years/31K is really nothing for a Toyota/Lexus. Enjoy!

You would have to purchase a whole new assembly such as the following. Not a recommendation, just an indication of what is available.

As a temporary fix, you could use a silver Sharpie marker, or get some silver touch-up paint. I found an OEM switch bezel only for $21.72 on parts.com:

[ 15 ] BODY HARDWARE / FRONT DOOR / INTERIOR TRIM / Switch bezel
switch bezel Left

MSRP Core ? Save Online Price
$31.43 $0.00 $9.71 $21.72

Make sure all the recalls are done. There was one (way back) for the electric power steering rack, and more recently, there has been one for the crankshaft pulley and two (or three) for the inverter. I'm not sure if Lexus Canada can check to see if they've been done, or if you'll need to get in touch with Lexus USA.

Finishing up 6 months and 20,000 miles since purchase and I AM LOVING THIS CAR.
So far:
Fluids, filters, when needed,
Left front wheel bearing,
New battery,
OEM hitch from Sewell
Headlight condensation repair (excellent tip to warm it up with some heat in the oven)
...and all of the above done smoothly thanks to all the help herein.
Thanks one and all.
