Battery Manufacture?
Does anyone know who manufactures the NiMH batteries used in the RX 450h? I was asked that question by someone who is doing some kind of research paper and I do not know. I have no idea how to get to those batteries and was just hoping that someone knew.

Interesting question. Wonder if there is one vendor or multiple vendors and Toyota uses lowest price vendor at the time of assembly of car? Or, whether they are made by Toyota?

I remember reading about a partnership between Toyota and a company that also makes batteries for Panasonic. A quick search on google reveals the company is called Matsu****a Electric Industrial which is now part of panasonic

Just to let you know what I found out. Toyota and Panasonic formed a joint venture years ago to manufacture batteries for hybrids. Sometime in 2010 they changed the name to Primearth EV Energy. They also supply NiMH hybrid batteries to Honda and some to GM.
Li-ion batteries are made elsewhere.

IMO Panasonic makes the best cells we use for lenovo/dell laptops.. I got laptops from 2006-2007 that still holds 95% of the battery, while sony, sanyo and other brands requires new cell every 1.5-2 years.
Now I really know the rx450h battery will last and I'm totally not worry about it anymore. I was a bit worry but because of the warranty, not so much.
