Default Newbie looking for advice prior to purchase

I am looking at a 2010 - 2012 RX 450h, but am strugglying with a few questions / analysis paralysis from pouring through web data (sorry if these are insanely newbie questions).

- Timing Would this group recommend waiting a bit longer to buy a pre-owned 2010 or 2011 since prices might drop even more once 2013s are more widely available? If so, do you guys October / November?

- Price. Is $41k for a 2011 model with 15k miles (with nav, premium package) a good deal? Based on several websites it is, but I read that a lot of people bought their new RX 450h for 4-7k under MSRP...which makes me wonder.

Thank you so much in advance. I'm hoping to join the club soon!

tipsypink, welcome to CL. You might want to wait until the next big Lexus sale, December to Remember. The deals should be better then. It's probably not a popular time of year to buy cars so they might be more willing to negotiate. Now regarding the price on the '11 450h, I'm the last person you'd want to ask about whether it's a good deal or not because if I like it, I get it I'll leave it to the expert negotiators here. Good luck in your search.

Thanks kitlz. Is the December to Remember event more for leases or does it also apply to car purchases ( with or without financing)?

Lease deals seem to be offered throughout the year now rather than only during the two Lexus sales events. I'm sure they'll offer them in December and probably special financing too. The event in August had low interest rates. I think it was 0.9%. Maybe the refresh played a part. But you can check other places like credit unions to see what kind of rates they offer.

Edit: I just looked at a newsletter from my dealer. They have a sale going on called Lexus @ Last good through the end of October on preowned. I can't see the details. You might want to ask a dealer.

For 2011 model year with low miles like that (assuming most 450h comes with Navi, HID, leather heated seats, woods... 55k-58k msrp) you CANNOT get it for 41k though. All I see around here are in the upper 46-50k for that mileage and year.

Good luck.
