My goal: 30 MPG average/month
I just took delivery on a new GS 450h and I'm luvin it. What a difference from the Prius I test drove two years ago, which almost turned me off to the whole idea of hybrids forever. If it weren't for the fact that my daily driving pattern is pretty much the ideal case for hybrid tech, I might not have even thought to test drive the GS 450h or the Infiniti M 35h, but I'm glad I did.
Now it's time to see if I can beat the rated MPG. I'm going to shoot for 30 MPG average/month with a combination daily drive that's about 60% city and 40% highway. I'm driving in Eco mode exclusively and adapting my driving style as I learn what the 450h likes and doesn't like. So far, it looks like I have to drive slower on the highway, which is a bummer, but not slower than 60 mph.

Congrats on the delivery. I think you will find it easy to beat the rated MPG. I have had my GS 450h since the beginning of June. I have about 2800 miles on her and have averaged about 31 mpg overall. You will find you don't have to drive slowly on the highway to return great mileage. In July I took a 1000 mile weekend trip. On the first half of my trip I averaged about 35 mpg. On the return home, I averaged 38 mpg. I intermittently used the cruise control and drove a steady 72 mph. Around town I usually average close to 31 mpg. I love my GS. I'm sure you will too.

I would suggest giving sport mode a try as well! At least in 3GSh world many of us are able to achieve some high mileage results by using our "Power" setting. It really just improves throttle response and encourages you to make the acceleration portion of your drive (the least efficient) the shortest. Just don't get out of hand and way overshoot the speed you are looking to achieve.
Plus who are we kidding these cars are a ton of fun in Power/Sport.

Those are some nice numbers. After some experimenting, it does look like just driving like I usually do, without making any adjustments, works out fine, particularly over 45mph.
I did give Sport mode a try on an open highway. Yeah baby, it was fun!

Hi... just got my GSh and had a chance to drive it to work a couple of times this past week. I'm about 20 miles out and have to contend with NYC traffic and coming across the George Washington Bridge and its tolls. Two round trips about 32 mpg - a given one way drive in was a hair over 34 mpg! The gas engine was off for nearly ten minutes crawling through the tolls and across the bridge!
I'm sure I'll be able to eek out a few more mpg's as I get to know it better.

We are lucky here in the UK and get the GS450h f sport
Great car, and looks amazing
I am getting around the 35mpg, I only do short trips to work, 5/6 miles, and haven’t done a long run yet.

I love the GSh450 f sport but of course it's not available on this side of the pond. Your Nebula Grey is beautiful. Every time I see pics of your car I'm reminded of the hilarious review by the Irish guy.

Great to see another GSh. I love your interior. My wife has a 350 AWD in Obsidian with the Flaxen interior. My Liquid Platinum GSh has the black interior. Hope to see more GShs posted.

Not much chance of that type of mileage here in our snowy, icy, sub-zero degree winters. On a highway trip recently I managed to squeek out 29.8 mpg, though. For this time of year I consider that excellent.
