06 400h "Check VSC", "Check Hybrid" and P3221 Code...?
I'm new to this forum but wonder if I could elicit some help...
My wife was driving the NJTP in our 2006 400h (86k miles) when she got a "check VSC", "check Hybrid" and red triangle. Everything seemed to work fine, except for the cruise control.
Afraid it might be the 12v battery, I told her not to shut the engine off for the remaining 200 miles home. She made it without incident. I immediately went to check the car out---the engine started right up. The VSC warning went away, but the "check hybrid" was still active. I have an OBD-II reader and pulled P3221. I was able to clear it, and so far everything seems to be fine after one day.
Does anyone know what P3221 is or experienced a similar problem?
Thanks!

Drive Motor "A" Inverter Temperature Sensor Circuit High/Low
I would get that checked out by dealer....or Toyota Dealership. Check the coolent level on the inverter. I didnt have that code but the lights you had was caused by a Inverter cooling pump failure...Part was not to bad, $220 plus labor and diagnosis. Has your car had the recall done on the inverter? Maybe the dealership messed something up whenn they did recall, if you had it done.

As mentioned check the coolant level in the inverter coolant reservoir. If it's low you have a leak somewhere. Otherwise it might be the cooling pump on it's way out or maybe the sensor. If the coolant level is low, check the inverter itself for leaks or the transmission below the inverter. My 2006 suffered coolant leaks in both places.
