My first service on a 2011 450h
I bought my 450h used (from a non Lexus dealer) with 11k miles on the clock. Just hit 15k (the service reminder came on at about 14,5k). I brought it in to the Lexus dealer for the 15k service (knowing full well that it would be more expensive here than at a Toyota or doing the work myself). I wanted to start a relationship with the dealer and my new service advisor.
So anyway, no records can be found for the initial 5k or 10k service ever being done. So they said they would need to do the 10k service as well. Since they couldn't locate any information about the service being done, they decided to do the 10k for free and I would just pay for the differences between the 10k and 15k service. They also said there appeared to be some minor wear on the tires indicating the need for an alignment. I wouldn't accept the charges for that and they decided to, as a customer gratification move, split the cost with me.
Again, since I just wanted to start the relationship on a good foot I agreed. I still think I got raped on the price at $199 out the door but at least I went in to it understanding that it was coming... Ah well... At least money grows on trees right!?

No, I don't play soccer!
Ciege, $199 wasn't bad for everything the dealer did. And the fact they were willing to give you some service for free or split the cost means your relationship really did start off on the right foot. Paying a little extra can work out in the end. After almost 14 years with basically the same SA and I am spoiled rotten For now you can breathe easier knowing everything was done. Regarding the tires, some dealers run specials on them (limited to OE) and/or include free alignment every once in a while. Or take it to an independent store like I did that will rotate the tires every 5K for free. Just make sure you document it on the Lexus owners' site.

I just got a call from my SA... Work is done, ready for me to pick up. He also informed me that he found a coupon for the alignment so he deducted that percentage off of the entire price. Really more than I expected from a dealer.
