Yes and no... If you're the third owner. Buying the car at 130k miles wishy washy maintenance record and something happens to the hybrid system. You better know someone at the dealership or Toyota.

If you're the first owner and have owned Toyota's or Lexus cars in the past. Guaranteed Lexus will take care of the situation. Or at least make it right.

Best of all situations. Including the "What-ifs"

Buy being the 2nd owner.
Get it certified or buy from a Lexus Dealer.
Make sure service is performed at the dealership. While your waiting, look and drive the new models... act interested in buying one even if you're not. If anything happens... if the dealership thinks you're a potential new buyer. They will push and work with you on your existing car.

Above all. Remember... the dealership does not owe you isht for buying a used 450h. So don't act like they are responsible if something goes wrong with the car 30k into you owning it.
450h drive lines are unfortunately 95% Dealer only serviceable. You are not going to be able to just run down to Joe's Garage and get a better price on replacing your HSD coolant system.

FWIW - When i was looking for my 3GS, I was limited on time, admittedly not properly educated on the hybrid mode, and afraid of the items called out in this thread. If you don't get a hybrid in the ideal situation, it seems like there are some unnecessary risk to take on with a used car. I could be wrong, but that was my concern when i was shopping, in addition to the fact that they just don't seem to be regularly offered for sale.

Default thank you for replies

Thanks for the responses. I feel better about keeping my car now. I guess the dead battery scared me for a bit. But the Crystalline Ice color is really beautiful and I love driving it...even after 7 years it is still a beauty....so I'll keep it a while longer.

Default Lexus warranty

I'm waiting to hear back my hybrid battery failed at 101168 miles and Lexus regional wont approve a warranty replacement. It has been serviced all along at Lexus but so far its not been good news.
