Has anybody placed a special order to get an estimate of when they might be receiving their car? Toyota released their press release about the 2013 rx but they didn't mention in the article about when it was supposed to be arriving on the dealers' lots. There have been rumors and "I heard from so and so at the dealership" that the RX is supposed to be on the lots as early as April and some "reports" as late as Sept. My thought is, if someone places a special order for a 2013, that person might have the most reliable information as to when they might receive their car so if you have anything to report, please do so. Thanks.

My current ETA on a 2013 RX450h (replacing my 2012 RX450h ordered Nov 9 2011 and should arrive at the dealer within a week) is "late June" according to the GM I spoke with last Friday. I've personally got my mindset at "early July" and will be thrilled if it arrives before then given the delays I've had to-date with my 2012. Apparently the cutoff is on the 20th of this month to get into the next production cycle for special orders, and my 2013 should be in that group. The dealership still does not know new pricing and has the to-do in my case to also determine what happens to the wide-view side monitor which was part of the luxury package on my 2012, but is absent from the Lexus 2013 RX450h spec sheet. They will be calling Lexus NA before the 20th to let me know what's up with that former option and if it remains available for 2013.

Good luck BertL on your order. Be sure to post photos and comments when you get it. I'm still on the fence about the 13 front grille but do like the new steering wheel.

Steering wheel looks very similar, if not the same, as the latest GS, but we'll see when they arrive on shore. "My" 2012 arrived at the dealership and they were going to sell it -- they didn't believe they would have a problem with that as no dealer tends to ever have inventory of RXs with lots of installed options. I didn't have the heart to go and see it for myself.

I'll be sure to post pics soon after arrival of my 2013. No problem.

Oh I see, you decided to wait for the 13, I thought there was a problem with your order and it just never arrived or arrived too late.

I placed a special order for the 2013 RX450h on March 18th and was told by the GM to expect arrival in 12-16 weeks, although the order was placed just before the cutoff date so he's expecting it to be closer to 12 weeks. This RX will be loaded with every option available, so that may influence how quick I get it. Another dealer in a nearby city said they should have the new 2013 models on their lot by mid to late May.
