Bad LED tail lights
Last year I bought a new left hand LED tail light (the one thats on the cargo door). For some months the middle column of LEDs went out but sometime came to life as if there was a bad connection within it. When someone then put a fracture in the outer clear plastic I bought a new one.
A few days ago I discovered that the other right hand LED tail lights middle LED column went out the same way...
It this some kind of really poor connectivity or some wider spread problem which should be handled via a TSB?

Hmm...I'll have to look at my vehicle and see if it's done this. At a quick glance you might not even notice this since the other lights around are all still on. Sad thing is, I think you have to replace the whole unit, you can't just replace the three lights.

I've replaced the left unit already.
But when the other side unit, within a year, suffered from the same mid array blackout I thought that this might be a wide spread problem.

Interestingly, when I checked my lights, I discovered that one LED was out on the driver's side rear lights that are on the hatch. However, it wasn't the row that's out like yours, it was one single light at the very bottom to the left of the middle row. When I tapped on the light housing, it lit back up. Loose wire, solder or something?

Thanks. So the problems are somewhat spread.
Not the same LED but it do lit up again like mine when tapping it.
The whole light unit looks sealed so I've not been able to get into the one I replaced and kept.
My guess is a bad solder.
I dont like to by expensive replacements of something that should not need to be replaced in the first place.
