Ok, random but is there a way to change the transmission fluid on the GS 450h and has anyone done it yet. I was reading about someone on toyota nation who changed there toyota Camry hybrid. I understand the camry is different from the GS but was wondering if it can be done and if anyone has tried this yet. Thanks in advance.

Good question Black. I'm due for an oil change already. I'm trying to decide which Lex dealer in my area are most competent. After I choose I will ask the technician about that.

Id be willing to bet the Aisin transmission uses a pretty heavy gear lube. Considering the torque and transitioning from engine power to charging.

I believed the same thing, but isnt the toyota camry hybrid have the same tranny as the 450h

Nope, not even close. FWD on that.

I just called my SA buddy. 90k service, drain and fill. You can buy the fluid in parts dept.
"WS Fluid" drain into a measuring container and then just refill that amount.

Rear diff is synthetic 75-90 should be done at the same time. (Normal procedure, nothing special there)

I'm surprised its just normal fluid...pretty cool.

Thanks Matt for the info!! I stuck with Toyota fluid with the 450h, I've been super happy with the CVT so far. I use AMSOIL and a tranny cooler in the GS 430 and have been very happy.

So it is synthetic 70~90 oil for the GS450h ???? Any make of oil better then any other?

You mean diff fluid? You pour 75-90 in the engine and you will get a good visual on compression physics.

As far as whats better or worse. I wouldn't go cheap, but I also would go *****-out. Its a 450h, not a 430 Scuderia

I've been pretty curious about this too.. I just got off the phone with a (RUDE) Lexus service adviser.. and he stated "You shouldn't touch the ""World Leading Lexus Hybrid" transmission at all, because it is temp controlled and has to be service only under certain conditions" i was curious? uh... well how do you do a simple flush?. that's all i wanted to know?..

1.What type of fluid do i used in my 2007 GS450H E-Cvt Transmission?
2. Where are the drain and fill bolts?
3. How much do I put in.?
AND
4. Are they any special precaution i need to take?

That's all i needed from him.. and still a "RUDE" "don't touch LEXUS WORLD LEADING HYBRID TRANSMISSION"

so if anyone can help me answer those questions with some pictures and a mini explanation, then you can help me? and the world of GS450H owners!

Just thought I'd resurrect this thread, Does the transmission have a filter to change at all? I looked on a parts schematic and don't see 1 so presumably not!

Is there a certain procedure to replace the oil, or is it a simple drain oil out, open fill bung, and fill to spill type of thing?

^^ You don't have a transmission per say like the rest of the GS line. ^^

I was told its a Dealer only serviceable item. Because it requires the trans being dropped... or at least tilted out of the car somewhat.

Do not F' with that trans is the basic mantra of the GS and LS hybrids.
