Default timing belt and water pump

I did not go to the dealer for timing belt or water pump replacement.
I had the warning lights on and the drivers seat track problems.
I asked them to fix those items first and then we would decide on the preventive
maintenance recommendation. With only 96000 miles , 6000 miles over the recommended
interval, for timing belt, I decided not to have it done for a cool B]$1100..[/B
I will wait until mileage is at 110K-115K ,since it is a hybrid and wear and tear on engine
is less than in an only gas engine car.
And time to find a local mechanic to do it for half of what Lexus charges...

Good choice, however I am not sure about the wear and tear, the engine starts and stops more often...my belt was actually a little stretched on my RX400h When I replaced it...The belt was fine, but it looked like it had been in there the 99k miles. That is when I changed it.

Took to Lexus dealer to check front driver seat slipping on track ..
they found 2 bolts missing, estimate $100 to repair.Bolts have to be ordered.
Also the warnings "check VSC system", "check Hybrid system" came on and they are checking the recall notice to see if warnings are related to recall issues.
Then recommended the timing belt ,water pump replacement for $1100.

Corporate Lexus has determined that my warning lights are related to the recall and will make repairs on my 2006 RX 400h with 96000 miles. new inverter assy, All repairs are covered
Charge to replace two bolts on front seat $99.95 :-(
Hey, that's awesome they repaired your vehicle, I had that "check VSC system" and "check Hybrid system" errors as well... I would get a beep that would turn into a constant high pitch tone.
Very Annoying, obviously ment to have you stop the vehicle. I would also lose break pressure.
Unfortunately in my case it was the VSC. $3000 and 2 weeks later Rx was running great. I was hoping it was the inverter. No recalls on VSCs.

Default no beep

Never got the beep, just the warning messages.
Brakes worked fine, cruise control worked fine too.
Lexus service rep never mentioned anything about the VSC.
Replaced the inverter and coolant, warnings gone.

Default New inverter

I was told by the Lexus service advisor that Lexus had to authorize the release of the new inverter for my 400h.The dealer does not stock the part.
These parts are in short supply.

Just purchase an 06 400H with 80K mile about for two week. The check engine light turn on today. The shop check and it return code P1420.

The tech states the machine reads: SCV Control Circuit Malfunction. The shop was not able to tell what that is. but it reset the car and the light went away. I'm planning to bring it in to dealer to diagnosis the problem if the light comes back again. Anyone here got this problem before?

Where do you go to check if mine is part of the recall. Thanks in advance

P1420 has something to do with the catalytic converter I believe. Likely not related to the inverter.

Got it fixed today. Nothing to do with the inverter. It happen to be a leak in a rubber hose that's related to the fuel/exhaust system. That mechanic left early and I don;t have a chance to ask him what exactly that hose does.

The inverter is not an actual "piece" that gets replaced, it has 2 circuit board a big capacitor and the high voltage cables for the battery, front motor n rear motor. Although your vin MAY apply, the serial # on the inverter housing will determine if you get one. The recall is for the replacement of the bottom circuit board, the job start to finish takes about 1:30hrs

I am curious, does anybody know the flow of the coolant thru theinverter? Does it actually run through the circuit board area or is there some kind of heat sink that inturn cools the inverter boards? I see there is a gasket for the clam shell that holds the boards.... funny how they keep the inverter in one assembly versus multiiple sub assemblies...

The inverter is made of sub assy. The recall calls for one board, theres another board, 3 buses and a capacitor bolted in the center. The cooland runs thru the case not inside the board compartment at all... Heat is transfered thru grease to the aluminum housing
