Price Paid for 2010/2011 RX 450h
Various folks have asked others what price was paid for a new 2010/2011
RX 450h. It is really relative to the listed MSRP (shown on car window sticker) where various options differ among the purchased vehicles. I started a poll where folks list the price they paid relative to the listed MSRP price. As an example, my 2010 RX 450h was listed at $ 53,750 and I paid $ 48,800 (or ~ $ 5,000 less than MSRP). Folks can vote to the nearest $ 1,000 less than MSRP that they paid. Taxes, fees, and license would not be included in this poll or pricing.

No, I don't play soccer!
I paid about $3K less than MSRP. The dealer normally doesn't discount special orders but since this was my third RX from them, they brought the price down and threw in the state tax rebate I lost out on by a few days.

I got my 62749MSRP AT 7500 under MSRP . Dealer knew that I would walk and go somewhere else like I did when I ordered my 2005 330. The special order had everything in it but the Glass breakage sensor He lowball the price to get the sale thinking he would make up for it on the trade. Sold the car to someone else win win for me.

I assume the person paying $ 9,000 + less than MSRP might reside in California--- Is this a correct assumption ? That and the $ 8,000 less than MSRP is truly a great deal for the 450H.

Yup, that would be me . All the stars aligned for me on this. Late 2010 production, 2011s already on the lot, 2k corp support, Dec 2 Remember rates, LFS loyalty certificate, and this is the 3rd Lexus I've bought from my dealer . . . no buyers remorse here

Price I paid for 450H AWD and the color
I kind of feel like a sucker after having read what you guys paid for your RX as oppose to i.
I went to the dealer with the price quote that CarsDirect.com gave me for a 2011 RX 450-h AWD with premium package + comfort package + navigation system + towing prep package for:
MSRP PRICING: $54,803
Sales Price: $53,189
Manufacturer Rebates: $0
Net CarsDirect Price: $53,189 - Pricing as of 4/10/11 in zip code 95137
The dealer charged me about $750 because no such car was available in the Northern california and had to be brought from Southern California. SO I paid about $54K.
The color I got was Smoky Gray Mica (which they told me is the most popular color and has the best resale value - though not sure). The car wont be ready for another 10 days still...
And of course I ended up buying the extended warranty and pre-pain maintenance, for additional $5300, and with sales tax and license it all came up to be about $65K.
So (though it is now after the facts) can someone please tell me if I got a reasonable deal (or was the word "sucker" written all over my forehead when I walked into the dealership!
THanks so much in advance,
John

Check out www.truecar.com (where you fill in the new vehicle info. for pricing report) that was mentioned in the above link.
Offhand, I do not believe you got a world beater of a deal. The median price reduction is around $ 5,000 off of MSRP based on the small survey in this poll. Not sure how it comes out on truecar.com until you put in the zip code and packages you got.

Purchased a 2010 RX450h in February of 2011, one of the last 2010s around at the time in my area, so it was less a result of my savvy that of my timing that I paid $6000+ less than sticker. I've found that buying last year's model works for me, and seeing not much difference between the 2010 and 2011 model, I was ok with it.

I agree that is a good time to buy if you can locate the vehicle you like (as far color combo along w/ packages desired). Dealers are trying to get ready for the new model year, and the manufacturers often give the dealers added incentives to unload last year's models. I also purchased my 2010 in October when the new 2011's were arriving on the lot, and got a better deal vs. purchasing it earlier in the model year.
The worst time to buy a new year model would be when they first come out and the best time would be when the next year comes out. This is fine if the mfg. aids the dealers and there is not a big change in models.

The important thing is that you got a vehicle with everything you wanted at a good price. I think the relative savings (and variation observed) would be similar for those purchasing the RX350 also. I imagine the majority that saved $ 5,000 + purchased the vehicles in the latter part of the respective model year.
