I just bought the Continental Extremecontact DWS (Ultra High Performance All-Season) for my 2006 RX400h. Gas mlage is about the same 26 to 27 MPG

Thumbs up Tires

Got these Yokohama YK520 2 years ago and are wearing extreamly well.

With better all season grip on my AWD than the stock Goodyears. Stuck with stock size 235/55-18. Nice ride and reasonably quiet.

The service center that I use just recommended the Continental Extreme Contact DWS as a tire that outperforms the Alenza. The side-by-side comparison in Tire Rack seems to support better traction from the Continental. I am getting ready to select tires and I am seeing a tire with great traction for the Chicago winters.

I put these on about 2-3 weeks ago got about 750 miles and really like them. This morning we got pouring rain and the traction was very good. This even softened the ride a little bit also compared to the Michelin's that were on here.

herbvdh, thanks for the update on your experience with the Continental tires. It makes me feel a bit more comfortable...I have never been a Continental fan.

i've never ran continental tires either but based off of your feedback here, the feedback on tirerack, and the nice video review they did of these in the snow i'll be putting these on my rx after the OEM meats wear down

i'm in colorado and need a good all season tire for the snow... i don't want a dedicated winter tire

We got a weather whammy here today. I was out driving in a wind driven hail storm which was going for at least a half hour. Then later it was severe winds at least 50 MPH and I was driving at 60-65 MPH. This was rocking the vehicle quite a bit but these tires "Held like GLUE to the road" Will add vehicle got $300+ damage from the wind.

I just also but the contiental Extremes DWS. TR tests have it very well. Discount tire matched TR price of $176 vs $197. The tire is a street tire that's more performance based but still quiet, 50k tread and good all season performance. I wanted better corning from this land barge. This is my wife's car and we never go off road anyway.

But I have a complaint. I had the GY RS-As. Which sucked. Had one tire get a screw where it couldn't be patched. I measured about 5mm or 6.5/32" Discount tire told me I had to replace them all. I went though the manual and there's no mention of having to do this with the RX400h style awd.

What's the consensus on replacing all?

I receive a number of phone calls per day regarding the best all-season tire for the Lexus RX model, so I thought a post may help some find their answers through the forum. Most of the Lexus RX owners I speak with want a tire that is smooth, quiet, hydroplaning resistant and has good snow and ice grip. I have compiled a list of the top 3 performers from my personal customers experiences as well as overall great customer survey results to back up these recommendations.

Goodyear Assurance ComforTred Touring

Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza
