I put Alenzas on our 2006 RL after the original Goodyears wore out at 13,000 miles. The Alenzas now have 13,000 miles and appear to have 75% tread remaining. I turn over tires early (have seen too many rainy day accidents) but do expect these Alenzas to go 40,000 miles before getting to my change-out point.
I, too, have been a lifelong Michelin buyer but in recent years have found Bridgestones to have better wear characteristics. For example, our 2002 RL went through two different speed rated sets of Michelin Pilots, each lasting only 20k to 22k miles. We put Bridgestone Potenzas and got 40K miles with lots of remaining tread. My 2006 RL has 18" wheels and the original Michelin tires went about 20k and while they had legal tread, those fat tires were questionable for rainy days. On the other hand, Michelin LTX tires continue to be outstanding tires both in tread wear and driving conditions quality for our larger vehicles. Each manufacturer apparently has a "sweet spot" and in my opinion, Bridgestone has eclipsed Michelin in the small SUV and moderate performance sedan market for buyers wanting long-lasting tires without giving up driving performance aspects.

Yes, everytime I ask my dealer or 800-25-lexus about the Good Years, I always get, "Why no, I haven't heard anything about the Good Years having problems." Yet this and other forums have several folks complaining about them. I have even posted on this forum about it. My 400h was aligned twice with the same wear you have (called cupping), though not near as bad...no tire failure. I went to Sam's Club and put the Michelins on the front (my treat) and Lexus reimbursed me for the rears. The thing runs fine now.

My mom is due for tires. ~35k on the OEM Goodyear Eagle RSAs.

Yeah, I've heard the horror stories! My mom is just an A to B. I personally rotated them every 5k miles with every oil change I did. Car is at the dealer right now getting the brake fluid flushed. They said the inner edges of the metal are down to the metal and tires need to go ASAP.

My wife's company car - a 2010 Chevy Equinox with the 3.0 six, came with the Latitude Tour in the same size my RX400h uses - 235/55/18. They seem to handle well enough in the dry, they are good in the rain but only so so in the snow (but I use dedicated winter tires on my car, so I'm biased when it comes to snow performance)
They do NOT, however, as far as I can tell, come in an H rated model, which is what my RX came with from the factory.

Whoops...you're right. They are V rated and I can't find the Latitude Tour in H or V in 235/55/18. The Latitude Tour HP comes in H and V in some sizes, but they don't have a 235/55/18 in the HP.

I had Cooper Sport AS on my RX350 before and I hated them.

I had to replace my OEM at about 18000 miles. I've had Alenzas on my car for about 30,000 miles. They still have a great deal of tread. Great traction in rain and snow. They do sacrifice a little mileage.
