Where did you get the 5.9 sec. figure ?
All I' ve heard from Lexus is that the GS450h will go 0-60 in under 6 sec.
They said the same for the IS350 too, but some magazines got 5.5 sec. and 5.1 sec. times . . .

Totota press release info stated that time.
Will be great fun when people start modifiying electric/hybrid cars.
There's a way to wire the batteries, using a electronically switchable circuit that will allow large amounts of hp for a few seconds, have seen some great burnouts on electric cars this way.
This car would be able and slink off down the road after, at a normal pace, not needing a re-charge.

It would be pretty disappointing when some mags got 5.5 sec. or even faster for the IS350 with just the 3.5 engine alone, but the GS450h gets only 5.9 sec. with the 3.5 engine PLUS the electric motor.
I know the GS450h will be a few hundred lb. heavier, but even the GS430 had been tested as fast as 5.7 sec. & the GS450h is supposed to equate to a 4.5 litre gas engine & therefore should be more powerful & faster than the GS430 . . .
